Mielle Peña is an writer, narrative designer, and artist based out of Seattle, Washington. She is currently working on "Tau Saves the World," an independent puzzle and narrative project being made in Unreal Engine 5. She also works as freelance writer and is currently seeking junior narrative roles. She has a Professional Certificate in Video Game writing from the University of British Columbia and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Outside of her freelance work, she participates in game jams where she often opts to try out more experimental interactive narratives.
She got her start in writing after winning two Silver Keys at the Texas State Scholastic Art and Writing Contest. She went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Psychology and has a Certificate, also from UT, in Forensic Science.
After spending some time in school working as a slush reader for Goldwake Press, she went on, after graduation, to work for the University of Washington, first as a research assistant, and then as a program coordinator. She left that career to pursue writing.
